With more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry, Trevor Forrest’s service in the local ICT Industry has demonstrated a commitment to driving improved standards of ICT adoption across the private and public sector where he has consulted on the design and evaluation of numerous ICT projects and digital transformation strategies. He is also well known for evangelizing the adoption and use of Open Source Technology across the public and private sector.

After 15 years in the United States where he occupied various management posts in IT, Mr. Forrest returned to Jamaica in 2006 when he founded 876 Technology Solutions a provider of comprehensive open source-based technology solutions serving the Caribbean market.

The goal of 876 Solutions is to provide public and private sector companies with integrated business technology solutions that will help them to successfully digitally transform so they will increase business productivity, efficiency, and profitability.

Industry Service & Involvement
Mr. Forrest has served in the Jamaica Government as a Senior Technology advisor at the Ministry of Science and Technology where he spearheaded many groundbreaking government policy initiatives. Mr Forrest was integral in the establishment of the Government of Jamaica online portal GOV.JM. He also had oversight of the public-private partnership between the Government and Telecommunications providers to establish the zero-rated access to all Government online services.
Mr. Forrest has served on numerous ICT groups and committees and as a director on various ICT related Boards these include:

· UTECH School of Computing and IT Graduate Studies Advisory Board
· Spectrum Management Authority
· eLearning Jamaica Limited
· Universal Service Fund
· Jamaica Information Technology and Services Alliance (JITSA).

Blockchain Enthusiast & Architect
For the past 6 years Mr. Forrest has been a passionate enthusiast of Blockchain Technology. In his own words “Blockchain technology is the next big thing in tech along with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning”. It is his firm belief that Blockchain technology will become the most critical underpinning component of any digital society. He is currently one of a handful of Certified Blockchain Architects in Jamaica and the Caribbean. He is an active member and contributor to the ISO Technical Committee (TC-307) on Blockchain through the Bureau of Standards of Jamaica.

Education & Family
Mr. Forrest attended Jamaica College and thereafter Embry Riddle Aeronautical University where he attained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering with a Minor in Mathematics.
Mr. Forrest is an avid music producer and disk jockey and enjoys downtime with his family.
